At The Sensory Support Project, our mission is to support sensory integration in elementary school students by providing essential therapy tools that help children regulate emotions, improve focus, and feel safe in classroom environments. Through distributing these resources, we aim to create more inclusive learning spaces that support students with diverse sensory needs.

Charlotte Austin received lots of occupational therapy services in elementary school. She is now a volunteer at the same clinic and is passionate about access to and advocacy for sensory integration support in public schools.

October is ADHD Awareness Month. 🧡

ADHD gets talked about as an attention thing, but for a lot of people it’s a sensory thing too. Loud rooms, scratchy tags, needing to move.

When we notice that, “why can’t they sit still?” becomes “what would help them regulate?”

Ella Jenkins: “I want to start a chapter because I want to make sure kids feel seen and supported in school! I have worked with kids with different sensory needs since 7th grade and love knowing I’ve made an impact! I am really excited to continue to help kids feel regulated and at home in their bodies!”

Jolene Leao: “I want to join a project like this that delivers sensory toys and books to students across the United States. It is a powerful way to make a strong impact on kids’ daily lives. For kids with sensory processing differences, the right tools and books aren’t just entertainment, they’re important for learning, and self expression.
